Osseous Surgery

You cannot keep deep pockets clean and free of plaque just by personal oral hygiene alone. The spaces under your gums may be too deep for even your Periodontist or hygienist to keep clean. Therefore Drs. Schneider, Freedman and Friedman may decide that surgery is necessary to remove the plaque and calculus deposits beneath the gumline. We will then recontour the damaged bone, and then position the gum tissues even with the bone level to reduce the pockets, and minimize the spaces under the gums where disease causing bacteria can hide.
