Dr. Freedman, born and raised in Philadelphia, completed his periodontal training at Temple University School of Dentistry, where he also previously earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree (Magna Cum Laude) at Albright College. Dr. Freedman as well is a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology.
At his graduation from Dental School, he received numerous awards and was elected to numerous honor societies, including Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society. Dr. Freedman taught at Temple Dental School for over 20 years, where he attained the rank of Clinical Professor of Periodontology.
Dr. Freedman has a strong interest in periodontal and dental implantology research, and has published over a dozen research papers in the Journal of Periodontology and the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry. He also serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Periodontology, as well as several other Committees for both the American Academy of Periodontology and the Philadelphia County Dental Society. Dr. Freedman enjoys spending his free time with his family, and pursuit of his other interests including golf, skiing, softball, tennis, exercise, and both stamp and sports memorabilia collecting.
Dr. Freedman is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, the Pennsylvania Society of Periodontists, the Philadelphia County Dental Society, the Montgomery-Bucks County Dental Society , and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
